Information We Collect
Gardenable itself collects no personally identifiable information. There are no accounts, no logins, no email signups, and no newsletter. The only data Gardenable processes are the inputs you type into a tool — a ZIP code or a crop selection — and these are used to compute a result and then discarded. ZIP codes are passed to a hosting edge function to look up frost dates for your area; they are not logged or stored by Gardenable, and the ZIP and crop values that appear in shareable URLs are likewise not collected.
As with any website, the hosting provider records standard server telemetry — IP address and browser user-agent — as part of normal content delivery. This is ordinary CDN logging, not behavioral tracking, and Gardenable does not use it to identify or profile visitors.
Separately, Google AdSense and its advertising partners serve the ads on this site. To do so, they may collect cookies and advertising identifiers, your IP address, browser and device information, and data about how you interact with pages. This collection is governed by Google's own policies, not by Gardenable.
How We Use Information
Gardenable uses the inputs you enter only to compute the dates and figures a tool returns, within your current session. It does not build profiles, sell data, or share inputs with third parties. Google AdSense uses the data it collects to serve and measure advertising, including personalized ads where permitted, in accordance with Google's advertising policies.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
Gardenable sets no first-party cookies. The cookies you may encounter on this site come from Google AdSense and its ad partners, which use them for ad serving, frequency capping, and measurement. You can read how Google uses cookies in advertising at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Third-Party Services
Gardenable relies on two third-party services. Google AdSense serves advertising — see Google's Privacy Policy. Cloudflare provides hosting and DNS — see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. No other third-party services are used: there is no Facebook pixel, no session-recording tool, and no marketing or data-broker tags. Frost dates, hardiness zones, and crop data are bundled with the site or drawn from public government sources.
Your Choices
You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google's Ad Settings, and out of interest-based ads from participating networks through the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out. You can also use your browser's controls to block or clear cookies. Blocking cookies may make the ads you see less relevant, but it will not affect the functionality of the planting tools, which work the same either way.
Children's Privacy
Gardenable is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from them. If you believe a child has provided information through this site, contact [email protected] and it will be addressed.
European Users (GDPR)
For visitors in the European Economic Area, Google AdSense operates a consent mechanism for ad personalization in line with the General Data Protection Regulation. Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal data. Because Gardenable holds no personal data of its own, most such requests concern data handled by Google; you can direct any GDPR-related question to [email protected] and it will be routed appropriately.
California Users (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Gardenable does not sell or share personal information. Advertising data is handled by Google; opt-out controls are linked under Your Choices above. CCPA-related requests can be sent to [email protected].
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated as the site or its advertising and analytics arrangements change. When it is, the effective date at the top will be revised. Continued use of the site after a change means the updated policy applies.
